SUMMARY
Nineteen (19) Practitioners, Businesses and Brands in Ghana’s Colour Cosmetics Industry were honoured for their excellence in 2018, at the 3rd Ghana Makeup Awards, held this Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra.

Accra, Ghana. May 13, 2019: The Ghana Makeup Awards, the Industry Award for the Colour Cosmetics Industry in Ghana, fosters excellence by rewarding and celebrating pioneers, leading professionals and upcoming talent within the industry, as well as businesses and brands contributing to economic growth.

At a beautiful, vibrant and colourful Awards Ceremony held last Saturday, the Organizers and the Advisory Board honoured industry practitioners, businesses and brands. The event was graced by the Special Guest of Honour, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison, Minister for Gender, Children & Social Protection, Ministers of State and other Special Guests and dignitaries from public and private institutions such as the Office of the President, NEIP, YEA, COTVET, GSA, GIPC.

Miss Valerie Lawson emerged as Makeup Artist of the Year; Black Secret Makeup, the Brand of the Year; SO Aesthetic, the Ghanaian Owned Brand of the Year and Juben House of Beauty, Retailer of the Year. The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Cecila Adjei, Senior Lecturer, School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana for her over two decades of service to the industry, while Sandy Osei Agyeman, Founder/CEO, SLID Industries Limited and Dzigbordi Kwaku Dosoo, Founder/CEO, Allure Africa Group were given Honorary Awards.

The 3rd Ghana Makeup Awards was a journey over three months, crowned with an event befitting an industry as beautiful and colourful as ours. It is always a satisfying feeling to bring an edition of the Ghana Makeup Awards to successful end.
