Former Business Manager for Makeup at L’Oréal West Africa; Aretha Yorke Sabeng, has been appointed the DMI Digital Marketing Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

We had the chance to interact with Aretha and she was thrilled about her new role.

When asked about her motivation to take on a new role, she said
“I am passionate about beauty, L’Oréal is a beauty giant and Digital is the future. I am going to experience ways that beauty business is executed across borders, with a long term goal of making beauty accessible in Africa. If we are looking to create a stronger industry cohesion in Africa, then it is important to export and import talents within and across the continent.”

With a strong background in brands and sales management, process engineering, plant management and chemical engineering operations, the newly appointed Digital Marketing Manager seeks to drive consumer engagement, promote communities, build a love brand and increase reach in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is going to contribute to the next chapter of beauty in Africa. As stated by Aretha, “It is a mixed feeling having to leave my Ghana Beauty family. We have grown and achieved phenomenal quests together. I am grateful for the support from the entire L’Oréal West Africa team and partners, all consumers, industry stakeholders and partners that led to Maybelline New York winning THE MAKEUP BRAND OF THE YEAR in 2018 at the Ghana Makeup Awards, only 3 years after the brand was launched in Ghana. It would not have been possible without everyone’s support.”

We need to applaud and celebrate Ghanaian Beauty Stakeholders making bold strides and putting the country on the Global Map as this will inspire upcoming beauty stakeholders and enthusiasts to find their niche and help the industry forge ahead.
