In a brief statement to the press, Becca Cosmetics publicized the product recall after mold was found on some applicators of the brand’s Light Shifter Brightening Concealer, saying “Out of abundance of warning, and according to its dedication to shopper satisfaction and security, Becca Cosmetics is voluntarily recalling all shades of its Gentle Shifter Brightening Concealer as a result of a brownish-black materials recognized as a standard family mold was discovered on the sponge-tip applicator of some units”

Made in the U.S. and distributed globally, the recall has been made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Admnistration.

While no incidents of adverse reactions have been recorded, the Estee Lauder Companies-owned brand stated there was a “potential risk of temporary skin and/or eye allergy and irritation.”

So far, no one has reportedly been harmed by the product stability concern – the media release noted.
